I want to say thank you to ALL my students, their parents and my family for supporting me and making this a success. I couldn't have done it without you all! It makes everything much more enjoyable when you have a GREAT group of people to work with!! Special thanks goes out to Jeff, Michael and Ashley...for all the hard work you do, for being so supportive, and for always being there when I need you!! You guys are the best!!! Some fun photos of our four-legged friends: (and two-legged) SOME BARN NEWS: What a great Summer we are having!!! I am enjoying some extra time with my kids, and my students this year. It's been a lot of fun!! We have been very busy at the farm with lessons, trail rides for some of the students, Lexi's training, and just the everyday work to keep the horse's happy and healthy!! We have quite a few new students riding this year. In fact, at this time, we have a waiting list for riding lessons.....probably until the end of Summer, unless another spot opens up. Lexi is doing really well this year. We started working on walk to canter transitions, and she's understanding it easily. We did our first bareback ride with her...walk/trot & canter....and she did great. She accepted it just fine. Ashley and I have also been doing a lot more trail riding with her. Brooke & Morgan are doing well with their horse Shirley. Brooke is hoping to event her later this year. We'll be working on correct body position, and a better use of the seat aids for dressage. We'll have to see how much Shirley actually knows!! :) Stacy and her daughter Kitty have been taking lessons on their horse Hobby, who is boarding with us for the Summer. They are both doing well and are still getting to know their horse better. We are also using Hobby for lessons, and he has been super!! I just love him!! Jordan and her friend Amelia have been out to ride every day this past week. They are here on vacation. They have both really enjoyed riding. For their last ride, we're doing a trail ride...should be fun. Jordan is able to stay up this way for the rest of the month, so she plans to come back and continue riding. Jordan has been riding with me for a couple of years now, and I really enjoy having her here. Jessica is also one of our new riders. She is taking weekly lessons, and is doing very well also. She is starting to do a little trotting already. I'm sure she will advance quickly. Allison is another new student of ours, and absolutely loves riding. She is quite a natural and should do very well with weekly lessons. Brent is back in the saddle again. It's nice to see him again. He is really enjoying horseback riding this year, and is looking forward to each lesson. It's been great!! We have been working with Acelia and her horse Honey at their barn. Honey looks really good and they are doing a fine job with her. It's just taking her a little longer to settle in to her new home. I'm going to be working with David and his horse Zip too. Should be fun!! I've started working with Rebecca and Ruth and their two horses also. They are doing well, and just need more time in the saddle. I am selling my Ansur treeless dressage saddle if anyone is interested. See our For Sale page for more info. We are doing more expanding to the farm this year again. We've expanded a paddock to make one large one, or it can be divided into two smaller sections. We also put up a new shelter for that paddock too. We'll be putting in another window in the extra stall, and we hope to finish matting the rest of the stalls. Seems like the work is never done!!...And we still have 50 more acres to expand upon in Monson when we're ready (someday) :) |
